As of 2024, Georgia’s mobile internet market is approaching a historic peak. According to the latest report from the Communications Commission, the number of mobile internet subscribers increased by 280,000 compared to the previous year, surpassing 4.6 million. This surge reflects the growing reliance of the population on online services and digital platforms, driven by increased activity from both individual and corporate users.
Simultaneously, the total number of mobile subscribers (voice and data users combined) also continued its steady growth. In 2024, it reached 6.14 million, up 230,000 from the previous year. This upward trend highlights not only broader technological accessibility but also the impact of innovative offerings and deeper integration with the digital economy.
The subscriber composition has also shifted notably. Corporate subscribers now account for 25.4% of the market, or 1.55 million users, indicating ongoing digitalization in the business sector. Meanwhile, individual users still dominate the market, totaling 4.59 million.
In terms of market share among operators, the distribution remains relatively stable:
- MagtiCom leads with 41% of the market,
- Silknet holds 35%,
- Cellfie Mobile has 23%, and
- Halo retains a marginal 0.5%.
More detailed data shows:
- MagtiCom served 1.84 million individuals and 680,000 corporate clients in 2024.
- Silknet had 1.6 million individual and 570,000 corporate users.
- Cellfie Mobile counted 1.12 million individual and 300,000 corporate subscribers.
- Halo remains the smallest player, with only 30,000 individual users.
This snapshot clearly demonstrates that Georgia’s digital environment is becoming increasingly dynamic. Rising competition, improved mobile internet service quality, and the launch of new digital offerings are further integrating the population into the digital economy. At the same time, stable market shares and consistent subscriber growth show that key industry players are maintaining their leadership — though the trends signal that Georgia’s mobile communications sector is entering a new, more competitive phase, where quality, innovation, and customer focus are the critical differentiators.
