Generative AI (GenAI) tools play a significant role globally in text-related tasks. Their use is rapidly increasing across various domains, from education to business. Internationally, GenAI tools have already become an integral part of workflows, especially in functions such as text editing, communication enhancement, translation, and the generation of new content. These technologies are constantly evolving, offering users increasingly complex features, which are also being adopted in the Georgian market.
Against the backdrop of global trends, GenAI tools are gradually establishing themselves in Georgia as well. Modern AI platforms are already handling Georgian texts effectively, something that was considered a major challenge just a few years ago. Their use is particularly effective for text editing and improvement. According to research conducted by BTU in October 2024, 58% of GenAI users in Georgia employed these tools specifically for text editing purposes.
Improving communication is another significant function where GenAI tools are widely used. In international business and official correspondence, these technologies enable users to create more polished and clear texts. According to the same research, 54% of GenAI users in Georgia found these tools beneficial for enhancing communication, highlighting this as one of the main strengths of GenAI tools.
Translation functions, available in modern AI platforms, are actively used in the Georgian market as well. GenAI tools assist users in translating complex texts, which is especially relevant for international collaboration or the tourism sector. While these technologies handle general texts effectively, challenges remain with Georgian linguistic nuances. Sometimes, translations are out of context or culturally inappropriate, requiring user attention and additional editing.
Creating new texts with GenAI, whether for blogs, marketing materials, or creative projects, is another widely adopted function internationally. In Georgia, however, only 31% of GenAI users have employed tools for this purpose. This may be due to a lack of trust in the technology or a misperception of its capabilities. Nevertheless, with the right tools and approach, generating new ideas becomes a much faster and more efficient process.
Beyond simplifying text-related tasks, GenAI technologies offer new ways to strategically organize and manage content. Sorting texts, rapid classification, or conducting data-driven analysis are particularly important in business and research. With GenAI, it is possible to quickly structure large volumes of text, such as analyzing customer feedback, forecasting marketing trends, or thematically organizing research materials. In this way, GenAI not only transforms the fields of content creation and editing but also introduces new approaches to text management, saving significant time, resources, and boosting efficiency.
