The summer of 2025 has brought another significant win for Tbilisi’s tourism image — Georgia’s capital has been ranked the most affordable city in Europe for travelers. The recognition comes from a new ranking published by Bounce.com, where Tbilisi scored 8.37 out of 10, securing first place among the top European destinations.
The ranking focused on factors that truly determine a visitor’s expenses in a city — the cost of hotels, dining, wine, taxis, public transport, and access to attractions. In each of these categories, Tbilisi outperformed many other European cities.
According to Bounce’s data, a two-night weekend stay in a Tbilisi hotel costs an average of €162 — significantly lower than in most EU destinations. A full two-to-three-course dinner for two people averages €78, striking a clear balance between quality and affordability. Wine lovers will find two bottles priced at just €13 on average — a figure that puts Tbilisi in direct competition with popular Eastern European and Balkan destinations. Getting around the city is also budget-friendly: the average taxi fare is €3.90, while four one-way public transport tickets cost only €1.28, making urban travel extremely economical.
Interestingly, the rest of the top 10 is dominated by cities in Eastern and Central Europe — Oradea, Craiova, Timișoara, Budapest, Prague, Brno, Zagreb, Gdańsk, and Córdoba. The study examined not only hotel and dining prices across 70 European cities but also the number of free attractions — another factor that worked in Tbilisi’s favor.
The reality is clear: today, Tbilisi is the only European capital offering the perfect balance of price and quality while delivering rich cultural diversity, affordable yet high-standard accommodation, vibrant gastronomy, and a sense of tourist freedom. The city’s affordability makes it equally appealing for young backpackers and families seeking a budget-friendly yet high-quality travel experience.
