The Avocado Market Boom: Global Trends and Georgia’s Growing Interest

Georgia is a relatively new but rapidly growing player in the avocado market. In 2015, avocado imports amounted to $179,000, whereas by 2024, this figure had surged to over $4.4 million. The most significant increase in imports has been observed since 2020, reflecting rising consumer demand.
In Georgia, avocado is primarily sold through retail channels and restaurants. Although it is still considered a relatively expensive product, consumers are incorporating it into their diets more frequently, especially for trendy dishes such as guacamole, avocado toast, and salads.
Global projections indicate that the avocado market will continue to grow, and in Georgia, its consumption is likely to accelerate import volumes even further.
